Trying out the e-PDF To Text Converter I downloaded this app and put it to the test with a simple two-sided three-fold brochure in its pdf form. The content was translated into text, RTF, JPGs, TIFFs, URLs (seemingly connected to PDF type faces) and some unknown category labeled "Inflated". Comment: e-PDF To Text Whether its possible to extract coordinate data from this converter. I mean to say, whether it is possible to get the position of each and every word on the particular page as well as the left margin and right margin value of each and every word through this converter. If not, is there any software is gettable to fulfill all the requirements.

Sadly it appears to be MS only. It would be nice to make this clearer. Apple's textutil program seems to have stopped allowing conversion of PDF to text.

need command line interface I need a command line interface for what i am trying to accomplish, and i was unable to determine if your pdf2text had one (no documentation, and the tool behaved the same whether parameters were passed on the command line or not -- a GUI popup appears). That being the case, this tool is not helpful for my specific task.

PDF2TXT was a life saver for me! I needed to extract text from PDF reports to load data into a database to produce statistical reports. The Adobe save to text file function was wrapping and folding the tabular data unpredictably in the output. Not only did PDF2TXT cleanly convert all the data into tabular text, it did it fast, and conveniently batch processed multiple files. I made my deadline thanks to PDF2TXT!

I actually wasn`t able to use it very much. I had to format my computer and found a 'codec' that does the conversion for free and that's all I needed. But it did work well! Thanks.
